An anthology of 18 Indian contemporary poets,  a poetry collection named ‘Autumn Buds’, compiled by Chongtham Deepu was released on Sunday.

The book release function was held at Hotel Imphal organised by Angom Ningthou Preservation and Documentation Centre Imphal. It was released by former vice chancellor of Manipur University, professor, Naorem Khagendra in the presence of retired IAS K, Radhakumar and principal DM College of Arts, Chungkham Sheelaramani.

Chongtham Deepu said, the anthology aims at bringing out the quintessential beauty of India through her poetry of young poets. He said, “India speaks many languages. India follows a multitude of customs and beliefs. And India stands out in her characteristic unity in diversity.” The idea of a poetry book by young Indians poets came up in his mind during his Dibrugarh University visit where he was invited at the All India Young Writer’s festival, he said. He collected the poems written in eighteen different languages spoken in India and the translated versions were published.
