AMGSU observes Bhanu Jayanti with humanitarian service

A team of AMGSU led by its President LB. Adhikari visited the districts headquarters of Kakching, Imphal East and Imphal West and donated Covid-19 relief items to the respective Deputy Commissioner.

Observing the 207th Bhanu Jayanti, the birth anniversary of famous poet Bhanu Bhakta Acharya, All Manipur Gorkha Students' Union (AMGSU) on Monday visited various District Headquarters to donated COVID-19 relief items.

AMGSU observed Bhanu Jayanti at its office premises at Kanglatongbi while it was also observed at various places by AMGSU Irang, Toribari-Kangpokpi, Kalapahar, Motbung, Charhajare, Kanglatongbi and Leimakhong unit by strictly maintaining lockdown protocols.

A team of AMGSU led by its President LB. Adhikari visited the districts headquarters of Kakching, Imphal East and Imphal West and donated Covid-19 relief items to the respective Deputy Commissioner.

At Kakching District Headquarters, DC Arambam Valentina, IAS received the relief items which included 50 packets of Mineral Water, 15 pcs of Pumpkin and Bottle Gourd each, 5 packets of Hand Gloves, 100 pcs of masks, 54 pcs of Sanitisers, 1 box of eggs and 3 pcs of Room Sanitisers (5 ltrs) while wishing AMGSU success in its endeavours and smooth functioning of the organisation.

The team then met Imphal East DC Dr. Rangitabali Waikhom, IAS at her office and donated 50 packets of Mineral Water, 15 pcs each of Pumpkin and Bottle Gourd, 1 cartoon of eggs, 5 packets of Hand Gloves, 200 pcs of Masks, 50 pcs of Sanitisers and 1 pc of Room Sanitiser (5 ltrs). Dr Rangitabali Waikhom also wishes the entire team to stay safe and maintain peace during the time of this pandemic. 

Finally, the team went to meet DC of Imphal West, N. Praveen Singh, IAS and donated relief materials which included 100 pcs of Mineral Water, 15 pcs each of Pumpkin and Bottle Gourd, 1 cartoon of eggs, 5 packets of Hand Gloves, 200 pcs of Masks, 50 pcs of Hand Sanitisers and  3 pcs of Room Sanitisers (5 ltrs.). The items was received by DC and SDO Lamshang Salam Padmapati, MCS. 

AMGSU President, LB. Adhikari said that the visit to the district administation is an attempt by the student body to share its solidarity and cordial relationship of the community with the district administrations.

He also said that it was also to express solidarity and the student body willingness to support the District Administration in the fight against the deadly pandemic virus while in tackling the situation that has arouse due to the pandemic.

Meanwhile, AMGSU thank all the well wishers, supporters, donors who have come forward to help during this time of global distress.
