AMAM condoles demise of Md Ali Janab Khan

oja Janab Khan served the state of Manipur in various capacities like additional director, directorate of university and higher education, principal at DMC of arts and DMC of commerce, lecturer/senior lecturer/SG lecturer at GP women’s college and many others.

The members of the Association of Muslim Academicians Manipur (AMAM) mourned and expressed condolences over the sudden demise of retired additional director Alhaj Md Ali Janab Khan, popularly known as oja Janab Khan of Hafiz Hatta on Thursday morning.

A release stated that late oja Janab Khan served the state of Manipur in various capacities like additional director, directorate of university and higher education, principal at DMC of arts and DMC of commerce, lecturer/senior lecturer/SG lecturer at GP women’s college and many others, it stated.

He continued to serve the state by holding many ranks and file even after retirement particularly in civil bodies such as advisor of AMAM, president and founder secretary general of All Manipur Muslim (Meitei Pangal) Welfare Association (AMMPWA), president of Athletic Brothers Association (ABA) and others, it stated.

He had written a few important books on history of the origin of Manipuri Muslims like ‘Manipuri Muslims’ (1972), co-edited a book titled ‘Nogsamei Puya’ and published a few eye-opening research articles in journals about the origin of Manipuri Muslims, it stated. He was a pioneer historian among Manipuri Muslims for his contribution in the field of history of Manipuri Muslims, it added.

The association shares the moment of grief and sorrow of the bereaved family and prays for the departed soul for peace hereafter, it stated. May the almighty Allah bless his soul in Janatul Firdaus, it added
