Four more KNF non-SoO cadres arrested in Kangpokpi

Two country-made pistols along with one magazine each and four live rounds each of 9mm calibre were recovered from their possessions, said a police source.

Barely five days after Delhi Police's Special Cell arrested the self-styled commander-in-chief of Kuki National Front (non-SoO) group, security forces arrested four more cadres of the outfit in Kangpokpi district on Friday evening.

Self-styled commander-in-chief of the organisation Mangkholam alias David Kipgen was arrested by Delhi Police's Special Cell on Monday from the Delhi Dwarka area.

On Friday evening, a combined team of 38 Assam Rifles, Intelligence agency, and Kangpokpi police led by additional SP (LO), Kangpokpi Thangkhochon Haokip; OC Kangpokpi inspector Henminthang Kipgen and SI Seigoulen Sitlhou under the supervision of SP Kangpokpi Karthik Malladi arrested the four cadres KNF non-SoO at a jungle near Gopibung village in Champhai sub division of Kangpokpi district.

The arrested persons were identified as Henpilal Haokip alias Bem alias Ronney, 19, son of Mangkhohao Haokip of P Khothah Part-II; Lalkhohao Kipgen alias Lalneo, 24, son of Satmang Kipgen of West Selsi village; Manggoulal Kipgen, 19, son of Lamminlen Kipgen of West Selsi village and Letminlun Kipgen alias Lulun, 19, son of Henkhosat Kipgen of Bongbal Kholen village.

Two country-made pistols along with one magazine each and four live rounds each of 9mm calibre were recovered from their possessions, said a police source.

It also said a preliminary inquiry revealed that Manggoulal Kipgen was involved in looting of Rs 4,000 from a truck driver and firing at the tyre of a truck on September 13 at Keithelmanbi Lamkhai using one of the seized 9mm pistols.
