A project of Training and Sensitisation of Stakeholders on Child Sexual Abuse was launched by Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Science (JNIMS) director Deben Laishram at the administrative block of JNIMS, Porompat, Imphal East on Friday.
The launching programme was organised by the Department of Psychiatry, JNIMS in partnership with the Department of Justice, Ministry of Law and Justice, Government of India.

People are aware of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012. However, the training and sensitisation programme will give awareness to the people on how to prevent the happening of such crime, said Deben.
He further said that the training and sensitisation programme will be conducted at 16 districts of the state covering both hills and valleys.
The programme was also attended by HOD of Department of Psychiatry, JNIMS, K Shantibala Devi, who is also the project director of the project.
