A release stated that the other states provided free quarantine even in five star hotels. The way the COVID-19 frontline workers in the state are made to pay for the hotel quarantine comes as a mockery to their dedication and commitments in fighting the pandemic, it added.

The inconsiderate decision on the part of the authority will definitely dampen the morale of the COVID-19 frontline workers, it stated. The association appeals to the authority concerned to revoke the secretariat memorandum in the large interest of the state, it added.

IMA remains committed to supporting the decision made by the All Manipur Health Service Doctors Association, Teachers and Medical Officers Association, RIMS and JNIMS Teachers Association regarding this matter, it added.
