19 stranded Myanmar nationals sent home from Moreh

Doctors from Moreh Hospital conducted medical screening of all the 19 Myanmar nationals at Integrated Check Post (ICP) Moreh.

As many as 19 Myanmar nationals who were stranded in different parts of the country were on Wednesday sent home from Moreh (Manipur) section of Indo-Myanmar border.

Of them, 10 persons, three males and seven females, came from Nagaland. They are theologian students studying at the Oriental Theological Seminary (OTS) Dimapur, Nagaland.

Among them, one hails from Pathein city Ngapudaw Township of Ayeyarwadi region, Irrawaddy division Myanmar, one from Za Loke Ma, Myanaung Township, Irrawaddy division while the eight others are from Kayin state of Myanmar. They were staying at the Electricity Guest House institutional quarantine centre Moreh during the last few days.

The other nine Mayanmar nationals, five females and four males, are pilgrimage and tourists and had come from Siliguri, West Bengal. They were staying at Forest guest house IQC for the past few days.

Doctors from Moreh Hospital conducted medical screening of all the 19 Myanmar nationals at the Integrated Check Post (ICP) Moreh. Also, necessary visa checkup was done by immigration staff of Manipur.

Manager ICP Robin Gangte, Inspector LCS Thangminlun Gangte, OC Moreh police Kh Dilipkumar and personnel of 43 AR dropped the Myanmar nationals till the Indo-Myanmar Friendship bridge.

Meanwhile, one Indian citizen also reached Moreh from Myanmar on Wednesday. The Myanmar authority handed over the Indian citizen to the Indian authority at the Indo-Myanmar Friendship bridge.

On Wednesday, ADC Moreh L Manikanta singh also inspected the Covid care centre at Moreh hospital. The centre has 27 beds for male and female wards. Dr. Vikramjit singh- MO in charge of Moreh hospital accompanied the ADC during his inspection.
