Manipur daily COVID-19 positive tally drops to 136

The COVID-19 death toll in Manipur reached 1,812 with one more fatality reported on Monday.

Manipur on Monday recorded 136 new COVID-19 positive cases, pushing the state's tally to 1,17,230 while the death toll mounted to 1,812 with one more fatality, according to the latest update by the state health department. The positivity rate currently is 7.1 per cent. 

The single COVID-19 fatality recorded on Monday is from Thoubal district and the victim was not vaccinated, according to a release issued by State COVID-19 Common Control Room. 

Imphal West and Imphal East continued to report the highest number of new COVID-19 cases with 39 and 49 positive cases respectively. Eight cases were reported from Senapati, seven each from Bishnupur, Kakching, Thoubal and Ukhrul, three each from Churachandpur, Kangpokpi and Tamenglong, two from Chandel and one from Kamjong.

All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, it stated.

The state also recorded 265 new recoveries, taking the cumulative number of recovered cases to 1,12,801. The recovery rate is 96.22 per cent, the release added.

Manipur now has 2,617 COVID-19 active cases, as per the release.

Meanwhile, a total of 1,205 D-type Oxygen Cylinders and  244 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur in the last 24 hours.

As per the latest update, the total number of people who have been administered the vaccine had reached 15,94,555 (first dose: 12,00,722 and second dose: 3,93,833).

According to the release, there are 476 vacant general beds and 104 ICU/HDU beds of COVID-19 in nine hospitals of Manipur. 

In ILAND Hospital (Contact No. 9540404955/ 7085206820) there are 46 vacant general beds; in MSF, Little flower School (Contact No. 9311222947) there are 20 vacant general beds and six ICU/HDU beds; in CMC, Koirengei (Contact No. 9612636004/9612905628) there are 28 vacant general beds and four ICU/HDU beds;  in Iboyaima Hospital, Singjamei (Contact No.7005436870/ 9612022125) there are 27 vacant general beds and three ICU/HDU beds.

In Jivan Hospital, Kakching (Contact No. 9366034272/ 7085348366) there are 16 vacant general beds and eight ICU/HDU beds; in Shija Hospital (Contact No. 7005097688/7005125158) there are 38 vacant general beds and 32 ICU/HDU beds; in Raj Medicity (Contact No.7005105552/9366496411) there are 80 vacant general beds and 20 ICU/HDU beds, in RIMS (Contact No. 7640862396) there are 185 vacant general beds and 24 ICU/HDU beds and in JNIMS (Contact No. 8131855346) there are 36 general beds and seven ICU/HDU, it mentioned.
