The Institute of Bioresources and Sustainable Development (IBSD), Takyelpat distributed hand sanitisers, face masks, face shields and bottled drinking water to three old age homes in Imphal.
The distribution was made by a team of IBSD led by scientists Sudripta Das and H Sunitibala Devi under the guidance of its director, professor Pulok K Mukherjee, said a release.
The distributions were made to old age homes at Nongmeibung and Kongba Nongthombam Leikai in Imphal East and Mongsangei in Imphal West districts, it said.
The distribution was a part of the IBSD’s continuing outreach programme on COVID- 19, it said. It added that the institute had earlier distributed similar items to various quarantine centers, police, truck drivers, media and other frontline workers.
