Manipur's COVID-19 active cases rise to 2,847

Manipur reported 292 COVID-19 positive cases and two deaths on Saturday

Manipur on Saturday recorded 292 new COVID-19 positive cases, pushing the state's tally to 1,16,899 while the death toll mounted to 1,809 with two more fatalities, according to the latest update by the state health department. The positivity rate is nine per cent. 

The two COVID-19 fatalities recorded on Saturday were from Imphal West. One had comorbidities and both were not vaccinated, according to a release issued by state COVID-19 Common Control Room. 

Imphal West and Imphal East continued to report the highest number of new COVID-19 cases with 152 and 40 positive cases respectively. Fifteen cases were reported from Churachandpur, 10 each from Kamjong and Senapati, 19 from Tamenglong, 16 from Ukhrul, nine from Kakching, six from Thoubal, five each from Bishnupur and Kangpokpi, two from Chandel and one each from Noney, Pherzawl and Tengnoupal.

All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, it stated.

The state also recorded 212 new recoveries, taking the cumulative number of recovered cases to 1,12,243. and the recovery rate is 96.02 per cent as of Saturday, the release added.

Manipur now has 2,847 COVID-19 active cases, as per the release.

Meanwhile, a total of 1,270 D-type Oxygen Cylinders and  281 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur in the last 24 hours.

As per the latest update, the total number of people who have been administered the vaccine had reached 15,90,822 (first dose: 11,99,970 and second dose: 3,90,850).

According to the release, there are 447 vacant general beds and 106 ICU/HDU beds of COVID-19 in nine hospitals of Manipur. 

In ILAND Hospital (Contact No. 9540404955/ 7085206820) there are 17 vacant general beds; in MSF, Little flower School (Contact No. 9311222947) there are 20 vacant general beds and six ICU/HDU beds; in CMC, Koirengei (Contact No. 9612636004/9612905628) there are 28 vacant general beds and four ICU/HDU beds;  in Iboyaima Hospital, Singjamei (Contact No.7005436870/ 9612022125) there are 27 vacant general beds and three ICU/HDU beds; in Jivan Hospital, Kakching (Contact No. 9366034272/ 7085348366) there are 16 vacant general beds and eight ICU/HDU beds; in Shija Hospital (Contact No. 7005097688/7005125158) there are 41 vacant general beds and 31 ICU/HDU beds; in Raj Medicity (Contact No.7005105552/9366496411) there are 82 vacant general beds and 18 ICU/HDU beds, in RIMS (Contact No. 7640862396) there are 183 vacant general beds and 23 ICU/HDU beds and in JNIMS (Contact No. 8131855346) there are 33 general beds and 13 ICU/HDU, it mentioned.
