India's COVID-19 active caseload mounts to 3,90,646

The country’s active caseload accounts for 1.18 per cent of the total COVID-19 confirmed cases.

India on Friday recorded 34,973 new COVID-19 positive cases and the active caseload reached 3,90,646, the Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry.

The country’s active caseload accounts for 1.18 per cent of the total COVID-19 confirmed cases of 3,31,74,954.

The COVID-19 recovery rate currently is 97.49 per cent. A total of 37,681 more recoveries were reported, taking the total recoveries to 3,23,42,299.

The country’s total COVID-19 death toll mounted to 4,42,009, as 260 more people succumbed to the disease across the country, the ministry said.

The weekly positivity rate showed 2.31 per cent, less than three per cent for last 77 days, while the daily positivity rate stood at 1.96 per cent, less than three per cent for last 11 days.

Meanwhile, over 53.86 crore total tests have been conducted so far. Over 72.37 crore vaccine doses have been administered across the country till date far under the Nationwide Vaccination Drive, according to the ministry.
