Manipur COVID-19 positivity rate drops to 7.1 pc

Manipur now has 3,218 COVID-19 active cases, with 263 new positive cases reported from across the state.

Manipur's COVID-19 positivity rate dropped to 7.1 per cent as it continued to witness a downtrend in daily new cases. The state on Thursday recorded 263 new COVID-19 positive cases that pushed the state's tally of confirmed cases to 1,16,397, while the death toll mounted to 1,806 with one more fatality, according to the latest update by the state health department.

The one COVID-19 fatalities recorded on Thursday is from Thoubal according to a release issued by the state COVID-19 Common Control Room. It stated that of the patient who died was not vaccinated.

Imphal West and Imphal East continued to report the highest number of new COVID-19 cases with 94 and 59 positive cases respectively. Fifteen cases were reported from Bishnupur, 14 each from Churachandpur and Tamenglong, 17 from Kangpokpi, 24 from Ukhrul, five each from Senapati, Noney and Chandel, four each from Thoubal and Kakching, two from Tengnoupal and one from Kamjong.

All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, it stated.

The state also recorded new 208 recoveries, taking the cumulative number of recovered cases to 1,11,373. The recovery rate is 95.68 per cent, the release added.

Manipur now has 3,218 COVID-19 active cases, as per the release.

Meanwhile, a total of 1,091 D-type Oxygen Cylinders and  213 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur in the last 24 hours.

As per the latest update, the total number of people who have been administered vaccine had reached 15,81,614 (first dose: 11,98,061 and second dose: 3,83,553).

According to the release, there are 450 vacant general beds and 103 ICU/HDU beds of COVID-19 in nine hospitals of Manipur. 

In ILAND Hospital (Contact No. 9540404955/ 7085206820) there are 18 vacant general beds; in MSF, Little flower School (Contact No. 9311222947) there are 16 vacant general beds and six ICU/HDU beds; in CMC, Koirengei (Contact No. 9612636004/9612905628) there are 27 vacant general beds and four ICU/HDU beds;  in Iboyaima Hospital, Singjamei (Contact No.7005436870/ 9612022125) there are 27 vacant general beds and three ICU/HDU beds; in Jivan Hospital, Kakching (Contact No. 9366034272/ 7085348366) there are 16 vacant general beds and eight ICU/HDU beds.

In Shija Hospital (Contact No. 7005097688/7005125158) there are 46 vacant general beds and 32 ICU/HDU beds; in Raj Medicity (Contact No.7005105552/9366496411) there are 82 vacant general beds and 18 ICU/HDU beds, in RIMS (Contact No. 7640862396) there are 176 vacant general beds and 23 ICU/HDU beds and in JNIMS (Contact No. 8131855346) there are 42 general beds and nine ICU/HDU, it mentioned.
