As second wave ebbs, Manipur reports no new COVID-19 death

Manipur recorded 282 new COVID-19 positive cases on Tuesday.

Manipur's COVID-19 confirmed cases reached 1,15,866 as it recorded 282 new COVID-19 positive cases, while the death toll remained at 1,802 with zero fatality, according to the latest update by the state health department on Tuesday

The state's COVID-19 positivity rate stood at 8 per cent.

According to a release issued by State COVID-19 Common Control Room, Imphal West and Imphal East continued to report the highest number of new COVID-19 cases with 122 and 66 positive cases respectively.

Ten cases were reported from Bishnupur, 11 from Thoubal, 27 from Ukhrul, nine from Churachandpur, eight from Kakching, seven from Tamenglong, six from Churachandpur, three each from Pherzawl and Senapati, two each from Jiribam, Kamjong and Tengnoupal and one from Noney.
 
All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, it stated.

The state also recorded new 294 recoveries, taking the cumulative number of recovered cases to 1,10,896.

The recovery rate reached 95.71 per cent, the release added.

Manipur now has 3,168 COVID-19 active cases, as per the release.
Meanwhile, a total of 1,160 D-type Oxygen Cylinders and  380 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur in the last 24 hours.
As per the latest update, the total number of people who have been administered vaccine had reached 15,69,582 (first dose: 11,95,584 and second dose: 3,73,998).
According to the release, there are 446 vacant general beds and 101 ICU/HDU beds of COVID-19 in nine hospitals of Manipur. 
In ILAND Hospital (Contact No. 9540404955/ 7085206820) there are 19 vacant general beds; in MSF, Little flower School (Contact No. 9311222947) there are 10 vacant general beds and six ICU/HDU beds; in CMC, Koirengei (Contact No. 9612636004/9612905628) there are 28 vacant general beds and six ICU/HDU beds;  in Iboyaima Hospital, Singjamei (Contact No.7005436870/ 9612022125) there are 27 vacant general beds and three ICU/HDU beds.

In Jivan Hospital, Kakching (Contact No. 9366034272/ 7085348366) there are 14 vacant general beds and eight ICU/HDU beds; in Shija Hospital (Contact No. 7005097688/7005125158) there are 47 vacant general beds and 31 ICU/HDU beds; in Raj Medicity (Contact No.7005105552/9366496411) there are 81 vacant general beds and 19 ICU/HDU beds, in RIMS (Contact No. 7640862396) there are 175 vacant general beds and 20 ICU/HDU beds and in JNIMS (Contact No. 8131855346) there are 45 general beds and eight ICU/HDU, it mentioned.
