Mizoram's COVID-19 tally surges to 65,695 with 1,468 new positive cases

Mizoram's COVID-19 confirmed tally surged to 65,695 with the addition of 1,468 new positive cases. The state's COVID-19 positivity rate is 11.92 per cent, the state Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) posted on Twitter Tuesday morning.

The death toll also mounted to 226 with one more fatality, while the number of COVID-19 active cases stands at 11,414 as of Tuesday, as per the DIPR update.

As many as 54,056 persons have recovered from COVID-19 in Mizoram.

Aizawl, the capital city, with 7.084 COVID-19 active cases is the worst-hit district in Mizoram. As many as 42,549 people have been infected by the disease in Aizawl alone, of which 35,291 patients have recovered while 174 persons have died due to the infection.

The other COVID-19 active cases included 776 in Lunglei, 354 in Siaha, 665 in Champhai, 789 in Kolasib, 203 in Serchhip, 768 in Lawngtlai, 569 in Mamit, 152 in Khawzawl, 36 in Hnahthial and 18 in Saitual.

Meanwhile, a total of 6,59,407 persons have been vaccinated with the first dose while, 2,54,507 persons have been vaccinated with both doses in Mizoram.
