Manipur daily COVID-19 positive tally drops to 185, four deaths

Manipur's COVID-19 confirmed tally has reached 1,15,584, while the death toll mounted to 1,802 on Monday.

Manipur COVID-19 positivity rate stood at 9.3 per cent on Monday as its daily new COVID-19 positive cases dropped to 185. The state's COVID-19 confirmed tally reached 1,15,584, while the death toll mounted to 1,802 with four more fatalities, according to the latest update by the state health department.

Of the four COVID-19 fatalities recorded on Monday, two were reported from Imphal East and one fatality each from Imphal West and Bishnupur, according to a release issued by the state COVID-19 Common Control Room. It stated that of the four fatalities, three had co-morbidities, two was vaccinated with first dose and one with second dose.

Imphal West and Imphal East continued to report the highest number of new COVID-19 cases with 68 and 35 positive cases respectively. Ten cases each were reported from Bishnupur and Noney, 12 from Kakching, 14 from Ukhrul, eight each from Chandel and Tamenglong, seven from Churachandpur, five from Senapati, four from Thoubal, two from Kangpokpi and one each from Kamjong and Pherzawl.

All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, it stated.

The state also recorded new 261 recoveries, taking the cumulative number of recovered cases to 1,10,602. The recovery rate is 95.69 per cent, the release added.

Manipur now has 3,180 COVID-19 active cases, as per the release.

Meanwhile, a total of 1,231 D-type Oxygen Cylinders and  284 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur in the last 24 hours.

As per the latest update, the total number of people who have been administered vaccine reached 15,61,759 (first dose: 11,94,192 and second dose: 3,67,567) as of Monday.

According to the release, there are 448 vacant general beds and 96 ICU/HDU beds of COVID-19 in nine hospitals of Manipur. 

In ILAND Hospital (Contact No. 9540404955/ 7085206820) there are 25 vacant general beds; in MSF, Little flower School (Contact No. 9311222947) there are 10 vacant general beds and six ICU/HDU beds; in CMC, Koirengei (Contact No. 9612636004/9612905628) there are 30 vacant general beds and six ICU/HDU beds;  in Iboyaima Hospital, Singjamei (Contact No.7005436870/ 9612022125) there are 25 vacant general beds and three ICU/HDU beds.

In Jivan Hospital, Kakching (Contact No. 9366034272/ 7085348366) there are 14 vacant general beds and eight ICU/HDU beds; in Shija Hospital (Contact No. 7005097688/7005125158) there are 47 vacant general beds and 35 ICU/HDU beds; in Raj Medicity (Contact No.7005105552/9366496411) there are 81 vacant general beds and 18 ICU/HDU beds, in RIMS (Contact No. 7640862396) there are 171 vacant general beds and 20 ICU/HDU beds and in JNIMS (Contact No. 8131855346) there are 45 general beds and zero ICU/HDU, it mentioned.
