322 new positive cases push Manipur's COVID-19 tally to 1,15,399

Two more persons died due to COVID-19 in Manipur on Sunday.

Manipur on Sunday recorded 322 new COVID-19 positive cases, pushing the state's tally to 1,15,399 while the death toll mounted to 1,798 with two more fatalities, according to the latest update by the state health department. The positivity rate is 9.2 per cent. 

The two COVID-19 fatalities recorded on Sunday are from Churachandpur and Thoubal, according to a release issued by State COVID-19 Common Control Room. 

It stated that of the two fatalities, one had co-morbidities and none was vaccinated.

Imphal West continued to report the highest number of new COVID-19 cases with 100 positive cases. Forty-two new COVID-19 positive cases were reported from Imphal East, 25 from Bishnupur, 44 from Churachandpur, 28 from Kamjong, 32 from Noney, 14 from Thoubal, 17 from Ukhrul, six from Kakching, five from Tamenglong, four from Senapati, three from Chandel and one each from Kangpokpi and Pherzawl.

All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, it stated.

The state also recorded 338 new recoveries, taking the cumulative number of recovered cases to 1,10,341. The recovery rate is 95.61 per cent, the release added.

Manipur has 3,260 COVID-19 active cases as of Sunday, as per the release.

Meanwhile, a total of 1,462 D-type Oxygen Cylinders and  378 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur in the last 24 hours.

As per the latest update, the total number of people who have been administered the vaccine has reached 15,60,441 (first dose: 11,93,720 and second dose: 3,66,721).

According to the release, there are 434 vacant general beds and 94 ICU/HDU beds of COVID-19 in nine hospitals of Manipur. 

In ILAND Hospital (Contact No. 9540404955/ 7085206820) there are 27 vacant general beds; in MSF, Little flower School (Contact No. 9311222947) there are six vacant general beds and seven ICU/HDU beds; in CMC, Koirengei (Contact No. 9612636004/9612905628) there are 30 vacant general beds and six ICU/HDU beds;  in Iboyaima Hospital, Singjamei (Contact No.7005436870/ 9612022125) there are 25 vacant general beds and three ICU/HDU beds; in Jivan Hospital, Kakching (Contact No. 9366034272/ 7085348366) there are 14 vacant general beds and eight ICU/HDU beds; in Shija Hospital (Contact No. 7005097688/7005125158) there are 48 vacant general beds and 30 ICU/HDU beds; in Raj Medicity (Contact No.7005105552/9366496411) there are 76 vacant general beds and 17 ICU/HDU beds, in RIMS (Contact No. 7640862396) there are 172 vacant general beds and 20 ICU/HDU beds and in JNIMS (Contact No. 8131855346) there are 36 general beds and three ICU/HDU, it mentioned.
