The Manipur government on Saturday instructed all private healthcare facilities to accept reports of COVID-19 RT PCR test done within 72 hours of patients coming for medical consultation.

It has been brought to the notice of the directorate of health services that some private healthcare facilities are advising patients seeking medical attendance for retest even on production of COVID-19 RT PCR negative reports which is in violation of the SOPs and advisories, stated an office memorandum issued by Health director Dr K Rajo.

It stated that such retesting has adversely affected the patients both psychologically and financially.

The directorate further instructed that retesting should be undertaken only in case the patient develops symptoms suggestive of COVID-19 infection.
