It may be mentioned that the speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly on Wednesday issued an order which inducted altogether nine new MLAs from nine assembly constituencies as members of the Hill Area Committee, increasing its members to a total of 29.

The order was issued following submission of representations by the eight MLAs with a request for inducting them as members in the Hill Areas Committee on various grounds, it stated.
