Manipur government tightens COVID-19 restrictions, orders prompt action against violators

The Manipur government on Friday reiterated restrictions on social gatherings and feasts in the state in view of the COVID-19 pandemic. It directed the deputy commissioners and superintendents of police of districts to strictly enforce the order issued and ensure people follow Covid Appropriate Behaviour.

The government order on Friday also mentioned that the instructions against social gatherings and feasts must be widely circulated within the districts and prompt action must be taken against SOP violators.

The order further stated that banks are permitted to undertake public transactions on all working days from 10 am to 2.30 pm, while directing each branch managers to ensure that Covid Appropriate Behaviour is strictly enforced.

The other COVID-19 SOP will remain in force as per the order issued on August 21, 2021, it added.
