Manipur daily COVID-19 positivity rate drops to 7.6 pc

Manipur now has 3,320 COVID-19 active cases with 299 new positive cases, six deaths and 361 recoveries reported on Thursday.

Manipur on Thursday recorded 299 new COVID-19 positive cases. It pushed the state's COVID-19 confirmed tally to 1,14,502, while the death toll mounted to 1,790 with six more fatalities, according to the latest update by the state health department. The positivity rate dropped to 7.6 per cent. 

Of the six COVID-19 fatalities recorded on Thursday, two deaths were reported from Imphal East and one death each from Imphal West, Senapati, Ukhrul and Chandel, according to a release issued by the state COVID-19 Common Control Room. 

It stated that of the six fatalities, four of them had co-morbidities, two were vaccinated with first dose and one with second dose.

Imphal West and Imphal East continued to report the highest number of new COVID-19 cases with 139 and 59 cases respectively. Eleven cases were reported from Bishnupur, 24 from Churachandpur, 10 from Thoubal, 25 from Ukhrul, nine each from Senapati and Tamenglong, five from Kakching, three from Kamjong, two from Chandel and one each from Noney, Pherzawl and Tengnoupal.

All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, it stated.

The state also recorded new 361 recoveries, taking the cumulative number of recovered cases to 1,09,392. The recovery rate is 95.53 per cent, the release added.

Manipur now has 3,320 COVID-19 active cases, as per the release.

Meanwhile, a total of 1,061 D-type Oxygen Cylinders and  300 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur in the last 24 hours.

As per the latest update, the total number of people who have been administered vaccine had reached 15,40,862 (first dose: 11,89,914 and second dose: 3,50,948).

According to the release, there are 385 vacant general beds and 87 ICU/HDU beds of COVID-19 in nine hospitals of Manipur. 

In ILAND Hospital (Contact No. 9540404955/ 7085206820) there are 14 vacant general beds; in MSF, Little flower School (Contact No. 9311222947) there are six vacant general beds and seven ICU/HDU beds; in CMC, Koirengei (Contact No. 9612636004/9612905628) there are 29 vacant general beds and five ICU/HDU beds;  in Iboyaima Hospital, Singjamei (Contact No.7005436870/ 9612022125) there are 24 vacant general beds and three ICU/HDU beds; in Jivan Hospital, Kakching (Contact No. 9366034272/ 7085348366) there are 15 vacant general beds and seven ICU/HDU beds.

In Shija Hospital (Contact No. 7005097688/7005125158) there are 46 vacant general beds and 30 ICU/HDU beds; in Raj Medicity (Contact No.7005105552/9366496411) there are 68 vacant general beds and 18 ICU/HDU beds, in RIMS (Contact No. 7640862396) there are 156 vacant general beds and 17 ICU/HDU beds and in JNIMS (Contact No. 8131855346) there are 27 general beds and zero ICU/HDU, it mentioned.
