India logs 47,092 new COVID-19 positive cases

India's COVID-19 active caseload reached 3,89,583 as per the Union Health Ministry's latest update.

India on Thursday reported 47,092 new COVID-19 positive cases in the last 24 hours. It pushed the country’s COVID-19 active caseload to 3,89,583, according to the latest update by the Union Health Ministry.

The total COVID-19 active cases account for 1.19 per cent of the 3,28,57,937 total COVID-19 confirmed cases, the ministry said.

Kerala continued to report the highest number daily COVID-19 active cases at 11,020 on Thursday that pushed its total active cases to 2,30,461, the highest in the country currently.

The country’s COVID-19 recovery rate currently is 97.48 per cent with 35,181 more recoveries reported in the last 24 hours. The total number of recoveries reached 3,20,28,825.

The COVID-19 death toll mounted to 4,39,529 as 509 more deaths reported due to the illness. The death rate currently is 1.34 per cent. Maharashtra on Thursday reported 183 more fatalities, the highest number of daily death toll in the country.

For the last 69 days, the country’s weekly positivity rate remained below three per cent at 2.62 per cent, while the daily positivity rate moved to 2.80 per cent.

A total of 52,48,68,734 tests have been conducted for COVID-19 so far.

Over 81 lakh vaccine doses have been administered in the last 24 hours and over 66.30 crore vaccine doses have been administered across the country so far under the Nationwide Vaccination Drive.
