India's daily COVID-19 positivity rate inches up to 3.02 pc

India reported 42,909 more COVID-19 positive cases that pushed its COVID-19 active caseload to 3,76,324.

India’s daily COVID-19 positivity rate, which remained less than three per cent for the last 34 days till Sunday (August 29), rose to 3.02 per cent as it reported 42,909 more COVID-19 positive cases, according to the latest update by the Union Health Ministry.

The new COVID-19 positive tally pushed the country’s COVID-19 active caseload to 3,76,324, accounting for 1.15 per cent of the total cases that reached 3,27,37,939, as per the Monday morning government bulletin.

The country’s weekly COVID-19 positivity rate, however, remained less than three per cent for last 66 days. And the new number of COVID-19 deaths dropped below 400 at 380. The death toll reached 4,38,210.

India also reported 34,763 recoveries in the last 24 hours and the total number of recoveries increased to 3,19,23,405. The recovery rate currently is 97.51 per cent.

Meanwhile, the country has conducted a total of 52,01,46,525 test so far and a total of 63,43,81,358 vaccine doses have been administered across the country so far under the Nationwide Vaccination Drive.
