Manipur COVID-19 confirmed tally mounts to 1,13,328

Manipur on Sunday reported 387 new COVID-19 positive cases and four more people succumbed to the illness.

Manipur on Sunday recorded 387 new COVID-19 positive cases, pushing the state's tally to 1,13,328 while the death toll mounted to 1,779 with four more fatalities, according to the latest update by the state health department. The positivity rate increased to 11.2 per cent. 

Of the five COVID-19 fatalities recorded on Sunday, one death was reported from Imphal West and three from Imphal East, according to a release issued by the state COVID-19 Common Control Room. 

It stated that of the four deaths, three persons had co-morbidities and none were vaccinated.

Despite the fall in the number of daily new cases, Imphal West and Imphal East continued to report the highest number of new COVID-19 cases with 161 and 52 cases respectively. Fourteen new cases were from Bishnupur, 38 from Churachandpur, 14 from Kakching, 30 from Pherzawl, 16 from Tamenglong, 35 from Thoubal, 10 from Ukhrul, eight from Chandel, five from Senapati, two from Noney and one each from Kangpokpi and Tengnoupal.

All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, it stated.

The state also recorded new 419 recoveries, taking the cumulative number of recovered cases to 1,08,161. The recovery rate is 95.44 per cent, the release added.

Manipur now has 3,388 COVID-19 active cases, as per the release.

Meanwhile, a total of 1,340 D-type Oxygen Cylinders and  359 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur in the last 24 hours.

As per the latest update, the total number of people who have been administered vaccine reached 15,18,836 (first dose: 11,84,851 and second dose: 3,33,985).

According to the release, there are 382 vacant general beds and 80 ICU/HDU beds of COVID-19 in nine hospitals of Manipur. 

In ILAND Hospital (Contact No. 9540404955/ 7085206820) there are 14 vacant general beds; in MSF, Little flower School (Contact No. 9311222947) there are eight vacant general beds and seven ICU/HDU beds; in CMC, Koirengei (Contact No. 9612636004/9612905628) there are 29 vacant general beds and five ICU/HDU beds;  in Iboyaima Hospital, Singjamei (Contact No.7005436870/ 9612022125) there are 25 vacant general beds and three ICU/HDU beds.

In Jivan Hospital, Kakching (Contact No. 9366034272/ 7085348366) there are 16 vacant general beds and six ICU/HDU beds; in Shija Hospital (Contact No. 7005097688/7005125158) there are 35 vacant general beds and 27 ICU/HDU beds; in Raj Medicity (Contact No.7005105552/9366496411) there are 70 vacant general beds and 16 ICU/HDU beds, in RIMS (Contact No. 7640862396) there are 138 vacant general beds and 16 ICU/HDU beds and in JNIMS (Contact No. 8131855346) there are 47 general beds and zero ICU/HDU, it mentioned.
