India's daily COVID-19 active caseload remains above 45000-mark

India reported 45,083 new COVID-19 positive cases that pushed the total caseload of the infection in the country to 3,26,95,030, including 3,68,558 COVID-19 active cases, according to the latest update by the Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry.

The total COVID-19 active cases account for 1.13 per cent of the total cases. Kerala, which has the highest number of COVID-19 active cases in the country, reported 2,05,440 total active cases as of Sunday. Andaman and Nicobar has the least number of COVID-19 active cases at three currently

The country’s COVID-19 death toll mounted to 4,37,830 as the disease claimed 460 more lives in the last 24 hours. The death rate currently is 1.13 per cent.

India’s COVID-19 recovery rate currently is 97.53 per cent as 35,840 more infected people recovered in the last 24 hours, pushing the total number of recoveries to 3,18,88,642 as of Sunday.

The country’s weekly positivity rate remained below three per cent for the last 65 days at 2.28 per cent, while the daily positivity rate also remained less than three per cent for last 34 days at 2.57%.

In the effort to contain the disease, a total of 51,86,42,929 tests have been conducted across the country so far.

Meanwhile, amid the concern of the third wave, the Covid-19 vaccination drive has been pushed further in all parts of the country.

With over 73.8 lakh doses administered in the last 24 hours, a total of 63,09,17,927 vaccine doses have been administered so far under the Nationwide Vaccination Drive.
