Mizoram's COVID-19 tally surged to 56,664, including 29,066 males and 27,576 females, with the addition of 886 new positive cases, as per the latest update by the state Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) on Saturday.
The COVID-19 positivity rate in the state is 10.33 per cent, it stated.
As per the DIPR update, 48,336 persons have recovered from COVID-19, leaving the number of active cases at 8,100, while 206 persons have died in Mizoram due to the disease.
Among the COVID-19 active cases, Aizawl has the maximum cases with 4,706, followed by Kolasib with 946 cases and Lawngtlai with 591 cases. The other active cases included 512 in Lunglei, 308 in Siaha, 369 in Champhai, 95 in Serchhip, 451 in Mamit, 15 in Khawzawl, 82 in Hnahthial, and 25 in Saitual, according to the DIPR update.
