India's COVID-19 death toll mounts to 4,36,861

The total active caseload reached 3,44,899, accounting for 1.06 per cent of 3,26,03,188 total COVID-19 confirmed cases.

India’s COVID-19 death toll rose to 4,36,861 as 496 more patients died due to the illness, while the daily COVID-19 active caseload remained above 40000-mark with 44,658 new cases, according to the latest update by the Union Health Ministry on Friday.

The total active caseload reached 3,44,899, accounting for 1.06 per cent of 3,26,03,188 total COVID-19 confirmed cases. The recovery rate currently is 97.60 per cent with the report of 32,988 new recoveries that pushed the total number of recoveries across the country to 3,18,21,428.

The weekly positivity rate remained less than three per cent for last 63 days at 2.10 per cent, while the daily positivity rate remained less than three per cent for last 32 days at 2.45 per cent currently.

So far, a total of 51,49,54,309 tests have been conducted, and a total of 61,22,08,542 vaccine doses have been administered across the country so far under the Nationwide Vaccination Drive.
