Assam and Manipur have so far recorded the highest number of COVID-19 cases in Northeast India. While Assam's COVID-19 caseload reached 5,86,940, Manipur's coronavirus caseload reached 1,12,355, as per the update by the Regional Outreach Bureau, Imphal on Friday.

In Assam, as many as 5,618 persons have died due to the disease, 5,73,541 have been discharged/migrated leaving the number of active COVID-19 cases at 7,781.

A total of 1,06,992 people have recovered from COVID-19 in Manipur, while 1,767 persons have died due to the infection. The number of COVID-19 cases in the state stood at 3,596.

As per the update, Tripura's COVID-19 caseload reached 82,600, including 80,655 recovered/migrated cases, 795 deaths and 1,150 active cases.

Meghalaya has so far recorded 74,817 COVID-19 cases, of which 70,841 cases are recovered/migrated, 1,294 deaths and 2,682 active cases.

In Mizoram, a total of 55,756 people have been infected by the viral infection, of which 48,080 people have recovered, 206 persons died, while there are 7,470 active cases in the state.

In Arunachal Pradesh, the COVID-19 caseload is 52,634, including 51,224 recovered/migrated cases, 260 deaths and 1,150 active cases.

Nagaland's COVID-19 cases reached 29,778, of which 28,321 are recovered/migrated cases, 612 deaths and 845 active cases.

The cumulative number of COVID-19 cases in Sikkim is 29,597, including 27,821 recovered/migrated cases, 367 deaths and 1,409 active cases.

Meanwhile, as many as 1,62,40,024 have been inoculated in Assam, 15,00,038 in Manipur, 8,98,972 in Mizoram, 8,39,996 in Nagaland, 9,32,394 in Arunachal Pradesh, 33,15,750 in Tripura, 13,05,334 in Meghalaya and 6,70,340 in Sikkim, according to the update.
