Blacktopping works begin in Heirok AC

MLA Radheshyam appealed to the people of Heirok assembly constituency to extend support in taking up development activities across political line.

The black topping works of the roads and lanes of Heirok assembly constituency began under the initiative of MLA Thokchom Radheshyam on Wednesday.

MLA Radheshyam launched the work at Mayengbam Leirak of Heirok part II after offering prayers to the Almighty.

At the occasion, MLA Radheshyam said that the works of blacktopping all the roads and lanes of Heirok assembly constituency will be done in a phase-wise manner. The first phase which started on Wednesday includes the black topping of 58 lanes of Heirok Part I, II and II and roads of Salungpham, Ukhongsang, Nongpok Sekmai, Shikhong and Bengi, MLA added.

In the second phase, the MLA said the roads and lanes  of villages like Pechi, Thokchom, Langmeithet, Lourembam, Toubul,Kak- Mayai, Ningel, Leirongthel, Malom, Mayai Keithel, Pitra, Jaliyanbi, Chandrakhong and Phanjakhong will be blacktopped.

MLA also mentioned that blacktopping has already been done for nine roads. They are Yairipok to Shikhong Sekmai market road, Chandrakhong, Heirok Part III Ngarouthel area, Heirok Part II Dhakarok, Heirok Part II market to Phundrei road, roads that lead to Heirok Part II Ashram, DIET and Engineering College, Aripat via Kwarok Maring village to Sekmai road, Salungpham Mayai Road and Sekmai mayai road, MLA stated. 

MLA Radheshyam appealed to the people of Heirok assembly constituency to extend support in taking up development activities across political line. A seven crore estimated RCC bridge will also be constructed soon over Heirok river at Wangjing- Heirok boundary, he announced. 

MLA said that BJP and BJP Heirok mandal have always kept the promises they made to the people. The beginning of blacktopping work of all the roads of Heirok assembly constituency is an example, he said. Many leaders of BJP Heirok mandal also attended the event.
