Manipur COVID-19 recovery rate improves to 94.51 pc

Manipur, now, has 4,303 COVID-19 active cases, as per the latest update by the health department.

Manipur on Friday recorded 478 new recoveries, pushing the cumulative number of recovered cases to 1,04,173 and the recovery rate to 94.51 per cent, according to the latest update by the state health department.

As many as 372 new COVID-19 positive cases pushed the state's tally to 1,10,215, while the death toll mounted to 1,739 with seven more fatalities, a release issued by the state COVID-19 Common Control Room stated. It stated that the positivity rate stood at 10.2 per cent. 

The release also stated that of the seven COVID-19 fatalities recorded on Friday, two deaths were reported from Imphal West, one each from Imphal East and Thoubal and three fatalities from Bishnupur, according to  It stated that of the seven deaths, four persons had co-morbidities and four of them were vaccinated with the first dose.

Imphal West and Imphal East continued to report the highest number of new COVID-19 cases with 131 and 74 cases respectively. Ten are from Bishnupur, 47 from Churachandpur, 11 from Kakching, 30 from Kamjong, 13 from Senapati, 17 from Thoubal, 23 from Ukhrul, nine from Tamenglong, two each from Jiribam, Kangpokpi and Pherzawal, and one from Chandel. 

All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, it stated.

Meanwhile, a total of 1,739 D-type Oxygen Cylinders and  357 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur in the last 24 hours.

As per the latest update, the total number of people who have been administered vaccine had reached 14,67,603 (first dose: 11,73,931 and second dose: 2,93,672).

Vacant bed in hospitals

According to the release, there are 315 vacant general beds and 80 ICU/HDU beds of COVID-19 in nine hospitals of Manipur. 

In ILAND Hospital (Contact No. 9540404955/ 7085206820) there are 16 vacant general beds; in MSF, Little flower School (Contact No. 9311222947) there are three vacant general beds and 10 ICU/HDU beds; in CMC, Koirengei (Contact No. 9612636004/9612905628) there are 27 vacant general beds and five ICU/HDU beds;  in Iboyaima Hospital, Singjamei (Contact No.7005436870/ 9612022125) there are 21 vacant general beds and three ICU/HDU beds;

In Jivan Hospital, Kakching (Contact No. 9366034272/ 7085348366) there are 17 vacant general beds and five ICU/HDU beds; in Shija Hospital (Contact No. 7005097688/7005125158) there are 22 vacant general beds and 19 ICU/HDU beds; in Raj Medicity (Contact No.7005105552/9366496411) there are 65 vacant general beds and 17 ICU/HDU beds, in RIMS (Contact No. 7640862396) there are 120 vacant general beds and 17 ICU/HDU beds and in JNIMS (Contact No. 8131855346) there are 24 general beds and four ICU/HDU, it mentioned.

Vacant beds at CCC

According to a release, of the total 3,547 beds available in all the district Covid Care Centres of Manipur, the total number of vacant beds as on Friday were 2,510.

The vacant beds in Imphal East (Bal Bhawan, NSU, Standard College, AYUSH Hospital) are 335, 715 in Imphal West(LKK, RD Wing, MU Hostels, NIT), 274 in Thoubal, 65 in Bishnupur, 52 in Kakching, 147 in Churachandpur, 34 in Pherzwal, 200 in Senapati, 18 in Tengnoupal, 53 in Jiribam, 31 in Noney, 64 in Kangpokpi, 258 in Tamenglong, 50 Chandel, 40 in Ukhrul and 174 in Kamjong, it mentioned.
