A youth riding motorcycle died in a road accident that took place at Khurai Sajor Leikai, Imphal East at around 1.34 pm on Thursday. As per sources, the accident occurred when a Tipper truck bearing registration no MN01AA-2202 coming from Ukhrul towards Khurai Lamlong road collided with the motorcycle (Bullet), bearing registration no MN01AD-7501, which was coming from the opposite direction. The rider of the motorcycle, one Md Khurshid Alam ,18, son of Md Rajaodin of Yairipok Tulihal Tapokpi Dam Makhong died on the spot while the pillion rider Md Musharaf, 20, son of  Md Ibo of Yairipok Tulihal Tapokpi Dam Makhong received injuries and admitted to JNIMS for treatment. The accident occurred allegedly due to rash and negligent driving on the part of the tipper driver. Both the vehicles were partly damaged. A regular FIR No 208(8)2021 PRT PS U/S  279/338/427/304-A IPC has been registered for further investigation.
