Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL) on Wednesday organised its 28th 'Athoubasinggi Ningsing Numit' (Martyrs' Day) which is annually observed on August 18.
“We observed the day this year with a tribute to the Kanglei revolutionaries who sacrificed themselves to dismantle Indian colonialism and establish an independent socialist society for the Kanglei people,” stated a release issued by secretary, publicity and research KYKL A Yaiphaba.
The function was observed in its 1st, 2nd, and 3rd battalions, units, transit camps as well as in a number of locations in and outside Kangleipak, it stated. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic now ravaging countries around the world, the event was toned down and held as a low key event this time, it added.
