Manipur: 42 more returnees test COVID-19 positive

With the new cases, the total number of COVID-19 positive cases in Manipur has risen to 1,227.

The total number of COVID-19 positive cases in Manipur has risen to 1,227 after 42 more returnees tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday.

According to a release issued by the COVID-19 Common Control Room, of the 42 fresh cases, 33 are from Kangpokpi, five from Ukhrul and two each from Kamjong and Senapati districts.

Meanwhile, 39 persons were discharged on Monday after they were found COVID-19 free on RT PCR test, it said. 

With this, the cumulative number of active and recovered cases are 733 and 494 respectively. The recovery rate has improved to 40.26 percent, added the release. 

It further stated that the new cases are being shifted to the Covid Care Facilities and all necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
