Unbrellas for women street vendors at Khwairamband market in Imphal

The Lions Club Imphal donated umbrellas to vegetable sellers at Khwairamband market in Imphal, as a part of its service towards humanity, it said.

Continuing its service to humanity, Lions Club of Imphal donated umbrellas to street vendors at Khwairamband market, Imphal. A team of the club led by president I Gojendra and vice district governor-I, (Dr) W Gopimohan distributed the specially designed umbrellas with the logo of Lions Club International. This activity which is taken up by many Lions Clubs under District 322 D was initiated by immediate past district governor Lalita R Khadriya, it stated in a release. The main objective is to mitigate the difficulties of people like street vendors who are deprived of a roof above their heads while conducting their businesses through sunshine or rain, it added.
