After receiving a distress call for lack of food and other essential items due to the pandemic from Seitol village, Churachandpur district, a team of InSIDE North East, an NGO based in Guwahati, reached out to the villagers with ration kits loaded in two trucks on Friday.

The ration kits including rice, dal, sugar, tea leaves, salt, sanitary napkins and others were provided to 240 households of 26 villages of the area. The items were provided from India's Covid-Crypto Relief Fund under the support of Umeed Project.

InSIDE North East director Hejang Misao said that the big smile of the people who received the ration kits drives them to carry on the fight against hunger due to COVID-19. He continued that they are extending help to all the communities of Manipur based on the needs and situations.

The NGO has also been providing COVID care medical kits to ASHA workers and COVID Task Forces and this is the best they can do to assist the state government and medical team in the fight against COVID-19, he added.
