On Patriots’ Day, the Jwalamukhi Battalion of 22 Sector Assam Rifles IGAR-E organised a Bike Rally as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, traversing through villages of Senapati, Kangpokpi, and Imphal West districts. The celebration also heralded India's 74th Independence Day on August 15.

Celebrated as the 'Peoples' Movement' across the country, Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is a series of events organised by the Government of India to commemorate the 75th anniversary of India's Independence Day next year.

Seventy-five weeks ahead of 75th Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had launched the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav on March 12, 2021, commemorating 91 years of Dandi March. The father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, 91 years ago, started the Dandi March on March 12, 1930, from Sabarmati Ashram to Dandi protesting against the British monopoly on salt production.
