The United Association of Recognised Schools of Manipur (UARSoM) has appealed to all the schools in the state to honour and abide by notification issued by Education(S) on June 16 regarding collection of tuition fees and salaries of staff.

UARSoM stated in a release on Friday that the notification was issued in the interest of all since the pandemic has affected all sections of the state. If any school does not abide by the said notification, the untoward consequences will not be held responsible by the association.

UARSoM requested the parents to pay the school fees of their students as notified by the Education(S) as the fees will contribute to better management of the schools and ongoing online classes. It further urged the parents to submit a letter to the school authorities if they have any difficulties in paying the tuition fees of their children due to the pandemic.

Any pending in the admission process of the students should also be completed to avoid future problems, it added.

It further stated that recently there was an issue between a few school authorities and parents in Thoubal district regarding the school fees, however, UARSoM along with student organisations intervened and the problem was solved.

The notification issued by Education(S) on June 16 had directed the schools to collect 50 percent of monthly payable fees from parents.
