Speaking at the inaugural function, Conrad K Sangma dedicated the party office to his late father Purno Agitok Sangma.

He informed that the Government of India has allotted the party office to NPP for fulfilling the criteria as a national party status.  He also informed that NPP is one of the eight national political parties in the country.

NPP was founded by PA Sangma after his exit from the NCP in July 2012. It was accorded a national party status on June 7, 2019.

“No political party from Northeast has ever achieved this level,” he said while terming that the inauguration of the party office in Delhi is a great moment for the people of the Northeast.

He also told the gathering that the NPP has been working with a focused approach to reach out to different parts of the country, wherever the vacuum for political leadership was required. He also said that NPP has started its journey with focus from Northeast but is slowly expanding its reach for the greater cause of the minorities and the marginalised section of the society.

“In the coming days, NPP will further strengthen itself and will emerge as a major political force and will ensure the victory of the party in the election State of Manipur", he said.

He then welcomed various leaders from different political parties, who joined the party on Thursday and will contest for the upcoming election in Manipur.

“It is a proud moment for Northeast as the National People’s Party has its full-fledged office in Delhi,” Tynsong said while further urging the party functionaries to work together to keep the flag of NPP high and work to fructify the dreams of its founder (L) PA Sangma.

Joykumar Singh, meanwhile, said that the NPP leadership has been working to ensure that the party becomes a mighty political force across Northeast.

“We made a humble beginning in Manipur. Today, we have become an acceptable party in Manipur and has expanded our wings across the State. In the next election, we will contest from the majority of seats to validate our party’s victory,” he added.
