Manipur records 467 new COVID-19 positive cases, seven dead

Of the seven deaths, five persons had co-morbidities and only one of them were vaccinated with the first dose.

Manipur on Monday recorded 467 new COVID-19 positive cases, pushing the state's tally to 1,04,791 while the death toll mounted to 1,657 with seven more fatalities, according to the latest update by the state health department.

Of the seven COVID-19 fatalities recorded on Monday, one death were reported each from Imphal West, Imphal East and Tengnoupal and two fatality each from Bishnupur and Kakching, according to a release issued by State COVID-19 Common Control Room. 

It stated of the seven deaths, five persons had co-morbidities and only one of them were vaccinated with the first dose.

Imphal West and Imphal East continued to report the highest number of new COVID-19 cases with 125 and 118 cases respectively. Ninety-four from Bishnupur, 25 from Thoubal, 16 from Kakching, 41 from Churachandpur, 12 from Chandel, 14 from Senapati, 11 from Tamenglong, seven from Kangpokpi and two each from Ukhrul and Jiribam.

All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, it stated.

The state also recorded 1,405 new recoveries, taking the cumulative number of recovered cases to 96,128. The recovery rate is 91.73 per cent, the release added.

Manipur now has 7,006 COVID-19 active cases, as per the release.

Meanwhile, a total of 2,572 D-type Oxygen Cylinders and  412 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur in the last 24 hours.

As per the latest update, the total number of people who have been administered vaccine reached 13,93,780 (first dose: 11,48,092 and second dose: 2,45,688) as of Monday.

Vacant beds in nine hospitals

According to the release, there are 162 vacant general beds and 53 ICU/HDU beds of COVID-19 in nine hospitals of Manipur.

In MSF, Little flower School (Contact No. 9311222947), there are four vacant general beds and six ICU/HDU beds

In CMC, Koirengei (Contact No. 9612636004/9612905628) there are 30 vacant general beds and six ICU/HDU beds

In Iboyaima Hospital, Singjamei (Contact No.7005436870/ 9612022125), there are 22 vacant general beds and zero ICU/HDU beds

In Jivan Hospital, Kakching (Contact No. 9366034272/ 7085348366), there are 13 vacant general beds and five ICU/HDU beds

In Shija Hospital (Contact No. 7005097688/7005125158), there are eight vacant general beds and eight ICU/HDU beds

In Raj Medicity (Contact No.7005105552/9366496411), there are 37 vaccnt general beds and 10 ICU/HDU beds

In RIMS (Contact No. 7640862396), there are 36 vacant general beds and 18 ICU/HDU beds

In JNIMS (Contact No. 8131855346) there are seven general beds and zero ICU/HDU, it mentioned.

Vacant beds in Covid Care Centres

According to a release, of the total 3,547 beds available in all the district Covid Care Centres of Manipur, the total number of vacant beds as on Sunday are 2,259.

The vacant beds in Imphal East (Bal Bhawan, NSU, Standard College, AYUSH Hospital) are 217, 686 in Imphal West(LKK, RD Wing, MU Hostels, NIT), 234 in Thoubal, 56 in Bishnupur, 49 in Kakching, 97 in Churachandpur, 42 in Pherzawal, 200 in Senapati, 14 in Tengnoupal, 53 in Jiribam, 33 in Noney, 59 in Kangpokpi, 234 in Tamenglong, 43 Chandel, 55 in Ukhrul and 177 in Kamjong, it mentioned.
