India achieved its highest ever COVID-19 recovery rate of 97.40 per cent as the total recoveries reached 3,11,39,457 with 39,686 more patients having recovered, as per the latest update by the Unipon Health and Family Welfare Ministry on Monday.
Following the increasing number of recoveries, India's active caseload stood at 4,02,188, while the death toll crossed 4.28 lakhs. The number of active cases constitutes 1.26 per cent of the total cases.
India’s nationwide COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 50.86 crore. Cumulatively, 50,86,64,759 vaccine doses have been administered through 58,79,068 sessions, as per the provisional report till 7 am Monday. A total of 16,11,590 vaccine doses were administered in the last 24 hours.
As situation improved in most parts of the country, the current weekly positivity rate continued to remain below five per cent at 2.35 per cent. The daily positivity rate remained less that three per cent for the last 14 days at 2.59 per cent.
In the effort to combat the pandemic successfully, testing capacity has been substantially ramped up, the ministry said. It stated that over 48.17 crore tests in total have been conducted as of Monday.
