Manipur's COVID-19 confirmed caseload mounts to 1,04,324 with 736 new positive cases

A total of 10 more deaths pushed Manipur's COVID-19 death toll to 1,650 on Sunday

Manipur on Sunday witnessed a rise in daily new COVID-19 cases of 736, while 10 more fatalities pushed the state's COVID-19 death toll to 1,650 on Sunday, as per the latest update by the state health department.

Of the 10 COVID-19 fatalities recorded on Sunday, Imphal West and Imphal East reported three deaths each and one fatality each from Churachandpur, Kakching and Kangpokpi, according to a release issued by the State COVID-19 Common Control Room.  it stated that nine persons who died of COVID-19 had co-morbidities and none of them were vaccinated.

Imphal West and Imphal East continued to report the highest number of new COVID-19 cases with 246 and 206 cases respectively. Sixty-six cases are from Bishnupur, 10 from Chandel, 42 from Churachandpur, 19 each from Ukhrul and Kakching, 54 from Noney, 13 from Senapati, 11 from Tamenglong, 37 from Thoubal, seven from Pherzawl, four from Kangpokpi and one each from Kamjong and Tengnoupal.

All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, it stated.

The state also recorded 921 new recoveries in a span of 24 hours, taking the cumulative number of recovered cases to 94,723. The recovery rate reached 90.79 per cent, the release added.

Manipur now has 7,951 COVID-19 active cases, as per the release.

Meanwhile, a total of 2,066 D-type Oxygen Cylinders and  300 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur in the last 24 hours.

As per the latest update, the total number of people who have been administered vaccine had reached 13,90,305 (first dose: 11,45,288 and second dose: 2,45,017).

Vacant Beds in Manipur hospitals

According to the release, there are 173 vacant general beds and 59 ICU/HDU beds of COVID-19 in eight hospitals of Manipur. 

In ILAND Hospital (Contact No. 9540404955/ 7085206820) there are 12 vacant general beds; in MSF, Little flower School (Contact No. 9311222947) there are four ICU/HDU beds; in CMC, Koirengei (Contact No. 9612636004/9612905628) there are 32 vacant general beds and six ICU/HDU beds.

In Iboyaima Hospital, Singjamei (Contact No.7005436870/ 9612022125) there are 19 vacant general beds and one ICU/HDU beds; in Jivan Hospital, Kakching (Contact No. 9366034272/ 7085348366) there are 13 vacant general beds and six ICU/HDU beds; in Shija Hospital (Contact No. 7005097688/7005125158) there are seven vacant general beds and eight ICU/HDU beds; in Raj Medicity (Contact No.7005105552/9366496411) there are 43 vacant general beds and 10 ICU/HDU beds and in RIMS (Contact No. 7640862396) there are 47 vacant general beds and 24 ICU/HDU beds, it mentioned.

Vacant Beds in Covid Care Centres

According to a release issued from DIPR, of the total 3,547 beds available in all the district Covid Care Centres of Manipur, the total number of vacant beds as on Sunday are 2,137.

The vacant beds in Imphal East (Bal Bhawan, NSU, Standard College, AYUSH Hospital) are 213, 599 in Imphal West(LKK, RD Wing, MU Hostels, NIT), 230 in Thoubal, 56 in Bishnupur, 47 in Kakching, 93 in Churachandpur, 25 in Pherzawal, 200 in Senapati, 14 in Tengnoupal, 53 in Jiribam, 33 in Noney, 61 in Kangpokpi, 235 in Tamenglong, 47 in Chandel, 59 in Ukhrul and 172 in Kamjong, it mentioned.
