Kholep Youth Club pledges to volunteer for Clean India Mission

Youths of Kholep village in Kangpokpi district to devote 100 hours a year or two hours every week towards voluntary work on cleanliness.

For keeping the environment clean, green, and healthy, the Kholep Youth Club on Friday pledged to volunteer for the Clean India Mission in a ceremony on Swachhta, during the observation of Swachhta Pakhwada under the aegis of Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, Kangpokpi in collaboration with Kholep Youth Club.

At the event, youths of Kholep village in Kangpokpi district gathered to take a pledge to volunteer for the ‘Clean India Mission’ which is to devote 100 hours a year or two hours every week towards voluntary work on cleanliness.

The Kholep youths further pledged not to litter and resolved to encourage the people for the same.

The ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ or ‘Clean India Mission’ is a movement started by the Government of India to create a cleaner India. The Mission altogether involves igniting the youths to take part in making a Clean India possible.

The mission will include activities such as volunteering in cleaning, a door-to-door campaign in the village for Swachhta, distribution of relevant literature, and intensive cleaning of institutions including village schools and community health care centres.
