Delhi: LNJP doctor dies due to COVID-19

A doctor of the Delhi government-run Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan (LNJP) Hospital died due to COVID-19 on Sunday, reports said.

As per the reports, the doctor was a consultant anaesthesiologist at the LNJP Hospital which is a dedicated COVID-19 facility.

On June 12, the Supreme Court issued a notice to LNJP hospital after horrific visuals of mismanagement of patients suffering from COVID-19 in the hospital went viral. The visuals showed patients lying in pathetic conditions. Dead bodies were seen lying in the ward, lobby and waiting area.

Delhi has so far reported 80,188 COVID-19 cases, including 49,301 recovered cases and 2,558 deaths.

The national capital is the second worst-hit in the country after Maharashtra with 1,59,133 coronavirus cases, including 84,245 recovered cases and 7,273 deaths, according to the Union Health Ministry.
