Nominations and recommendations are invited for the highest civilian award  ‘Sardar Patel National Unity Award, 2021’ given for outstanding contributions made in the field of unity and integrity of India. Eligible citizens and institutions may submit their details to the State Home department by August 7, 2021 in the format available on the website www.nationaluntityawards.mha.gov.in, designed for this purpose. It may be mentioned that the award is instituted by the Government of India and it will be announced on the occasion of the National Unity Day, i.e. on October 31. The Sardar Patel National Unity Award seeks to recognise the notable and inspiring contributions made by the citizens and institutions of India to promote the cause of national unity and integrity and to reinforce the value of a strong and united India.  All citizens of India without distinction of religion, race, caste, gender, place or birth, age or occupation and any institutions and organisations are eligible for the award.
