Essential items delivered to 277 COVID-19 positive families of Lamlai AC

Necessary essential items were distributed to 385 households of 18 localities of the assembly constituency where a total of 277 persons were tested positive during a mass COVID-19 testing that was conducted recently.


As a part of extending necessary assistance for COVID infected persons, essential items were handed over to people in some areas of Lamlai assembly constituency on Wednesday.

The initiative was taken under the supervision of Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) co-opted member, Achoibam Deben in collaboration with Lamlai Block Congress Committee; Lamlai Kendra Development Political Forum; Hill Area Development Committee; Lamlai Block Mahila Youth Congress Committee; volunteers of Lamlai Kendra COVID-19 Second Wave Information Centre and Lamlai Municipal Council councillor.

Speaking to the media on the sidelines of the distribution of essential items, Lamlai Block Congress Committee president, Hijam Marjit said that people should give priority on early vaccination as it is one of the major preventive measures to prevent from the severe impact of COVID-19 infection.

Despite prioritising early vaccination, people should also strictly follow the guidelines issued by the state government in maintaining SOPs even at home, he added.

Marjit further said that many people have tested COVID-19 positive in Lamlai assembly constituency and so people who are not yet infected by the virus should be cautious enough.

Such initiative will be continued by extending necessary assistance to the needy people of the assembly constituency who have been affected directly and indirectly by the pandemic, he added.
