Tousem PHC in Tamenglong district of Manipur was on Thursday provided a baby incubator, a delivery table, two fowler beds and two mattresses.
Forest and Environment Minister Awangbow Newmai on Thursday handed over the new equipment to Tousem PHC at the chief medical office complex, Tamenglong HQ.
The PHC in Tousem sub-division is the first in Tamenglong to have a baby incubator.
Speaking on occasion, the minister said that with the people's participation and district administration now the district hospital Duigailong Tamenglong is well prepared and well equipped to some extent to face any challenges at the district level.
ADC Tamenglong chairman Namsinrei Panmei, former MLA Khangthuanang Panmei, Tousem ADC member TP Sanjiutuing, deputy commissioner Tamenglong Armstrong Pame, Chief Medical Officer Tamenglong Dr G Majachunglu and other dignitaries attended the function.
The minister also visited the district hospital Duigailong Tamenglong and inspected the oxygen plant being installed near the district hospital. He also handed over Rs 50,000 to the CMO, Tamenglong for Covid-19 task expenses.
