Manipur’s COVID-19 active caseload crosses 10000-mark
Manipur on Monday reported nine more COVID-19 deaths and 989 more people tested positive for the disease.
Manipur on Monday reported a slight dip in the daily COVID-19 positive cases at 989, including two personnel of the Central Armed Police Forces as lesser number of daily test results were received (4,888), official sources said.
The new positive cases reported across the state pushed the total COVID-19 confirmed cases in the state to 10524, while the total number of confirmed cases rose to 93,656, a release by the COVID-19 Common Control Room stated.
While the number of recovered cases reached 81,645 at 87.17 per cent as 1037 more patients recovered, the death toll rose to 1,487 with nine more fatalities on Monday, the release stated.
Of the new COVID-19 positive cases, maximum number of 255 were reported from Imphal East. As many as 209 were from Imphal West, 115 from Bshnupur, 91 from Chandel, 57 from Churachandpur, 18 from Jiribam, 43 from Kakching, 21 from Senapati, foru from Kangpokpi, two from Pherzawl, 136 from Thoubal, 23 from Tamenglong, 12 from Ukhrul and three from Tengnoupal.
Noney and Kamjong districts did not report any new cases for the day.
Meanwhile, Imphal West reported three deaths, Kangpokpi and Bishnupur one each, Churachandpur and Imphal East two each.
All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, the release stated.
The release also stated that in the last 24 hours, a total of 2160 D type oxygen cylinders and 463 B type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities of Manipur.
As many as 12,05,743 Covid vaccine doses have been administered to the people across the state as of Monday under the Nationwide Vaccination Drive.
