Midfielder W Suresh bags AIFF Men's Emerging Footballer 2020-21 Award

The defensive midfielder is currently playing for the Blue Tigers and voted by the Club Coach for the Award.

Midfielder Wangjam Suresh has been conferred the prestigious title of AIFF Men's Emerging Footballer of the Year 2020-21.

The defensive midfielder is currently playing for the Blue Tigers and voted by the Club Coach for the Award. He was enrolled in the AIFF Elite Academy from 2016-2019 in preparation of India U-17 World Cup team. Then he had a stint with Indian Arrows in 2017 and later joined Indian Super League team, Bengaluru FC in June 2019.

The All Manipur Football Association (AMFA) in a congratulatory statement said, “the association feels proud of Wangjam Suresh on winning such a prestigious award of the All India Football Federation. AMFA implores a bright career for him in the future.”

It may be mentioned that another footballer of the state, Ngangom Bala Devi was also conferred the AIFF Women's Footballer of the Year 2020-21.
