Kishorchandra’s wife urges chief secretary to release husband from jail

In a letter addressed to the chief secretary, Ranjita stated that her husband has been detained in the central Jail Sajiwa under NSA since May 17.

Elangbam Ranjita, wife of Kishorchandra Wangkhemcha Wangthoi on Wednesday urged the chief secretary, government of Manipur for releasing her husband from Sajiwa jail.

In a letter addressed to the chief secretary, Ranjita stated that her husband has been detained in the central Jail Sajiwa under NSA since May 17, passed in Cril/NSA/ No 3 of 2021 along with one of the detenue namely Erendro Leichombam whose NSA has been revoked by the chief secretary office on July 19 order No H- 20/17/2021-HD-HD (judicial notice may be taken for reference).

The allegations and invoking section of law or Act against the two detenues are the same; however, her husband's detention order has not been revoked by the authority concerned, she stated.

Therefore, she requested to revoke the NSA slapped against her husband so that the further proceedings/any lawful step/course of action may also be dispensed with.
