Manipur’s COVID-19 caseload reaches 86,723 as daily death, positive cases continue to surge
As many as 17 more people succumbed to COVID-19 and 1,127 more people tested positive for the disease in Manipur on Tuesday.
Manipur’s COVID-19 caseload reached 86,723 and death toll rose to 1,409 with 1,127 new positive cases and 17 more fatalities reported from across the state on Tuesday.
A total of 7,279 test results were received on Tuesday, of which 1,127 were found positive for COVID-19. The cumulative number of test results received as of Tuesday is 10,14,017, according to the latest updates from the state health department.
As many as 350 new COVID-19 cases were reported from Imphal West alone, while Imphal East also logged a total of 321 new COVID-19 cases. The other new COVID-19 cases included 100 from Churachandpur, 90 from Bishnupur, 78 from Thoubal, 76 from Kakching, 22 from Chandel, 18 from Kangpokpi, 14 from Tamenglong, 10 from Tengnoupal, nine from Noney, seven from Jiribam, five from Ukhrul, and two from Pherzawl. The remaining 15 new COVID-19 cases are personnel from the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF), a release issued by the COVID-19 Common Control Room stated.
Of the 17 fatalities recorded in the state on Tuesday, six deaths were from Imphal West, three deaths each from Thoubal and Bishnupur, and one death each from Kakching, Chandel and Churachandpur, as per the state level COVID-19 deaths audit committee. Only four of them were vaccinated with the first dose, it stated.
On Tuesday, the state also recorded 736 new recoveries, pushing the cumulative number of recovered cases to 75,247. With it, the number of COVID-19 active cases in Manipur stands at 10,067 and the state's recovery rate stands at 86.76 per cent, the release stated.
Meanwhile, a total of 1,864 D-type oxygen cylinders and 351 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities of the state in the last 24 hours, it stated.
As per the latest updates, the cumulative number of doses of COVID-19 vaccine administered in the state reached 10,66,127 (First dose: 9,46,675 and second dose: 1,19,452)
