Two minors kidnapped from Manipur rescued in Uttar Pradesh

The rescued girls were brought back to Manipur on Monday, sources said.

Two minor girls from Manipur, who were kidnapped from a location in Thoubal district was rescued by a team of Thoubal district police in cooperation with Janakpuri Police Station, Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh under the supervision of SP Thoubal Jogeshchandra Haobijam from Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh on Sunday.

As per sources, the rescued girls were brought back to Manipur on Monday. A complaint report was received on July 13 about the two girls from Thoubal being sexually assaulted and kidnapped by one Md Shuaib, 23, son of Md Liyakat and another Md Azam,26, son of Md Sulaiman, both residence of Khanalampura PS Nakur Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh.

An FIR 37(7)2021 WPS-PS u/s 4 POCSO ACT, 2012 was registered in connection with the case. During the course of investigation, it was found that two minor victims were kept at Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh.

Both girls were produced before chairperson, CWC, Thoubal and handed over to their respective parents.
